Job summary

EasyFood Restaurants Corporation is seeking a Cost Accountant to monitor costs across all restaurant locations and drive cost-saving initiatives. You will prepare detailed cost analyses, reconcile inventories, and support month-end closing to ensure accurate reporting.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 3+ years in cost accounting, and proficiency in MS Excel. CPA/CMA is advantageous for progression within the hospitality sector.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Analyzing and monitoring daily, weekly and monthly cost reports to identify variances and cost-saving opportunities across all restaurant locations
• Preparing detailed cost analysis reports including food costs, labor costs, overhead expenses and other operational expenditures
• Conducting regular cost audits and inventory reconciliations to ensure accuracy and prevent losses
• Collaborating with operational managers to implement cost control measures and efficiency improvements
• Monitoring supplier invoices and ensuring costs align with negotiated pricing agreements
• Tracking and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as food cost percentage, labor cost ratio and overall operational efficiency
• Preparing budget forecasts and providing recommendations for cost reductions without compromising service quality
• Maintaining detailed records of all cost-related transactions and documentation for audit purposes
• Assisting with the development and maintenance of cost accounting policies and procedures
• Supporting the finance team with month-end and year-end closing procedures related to cost controls

Requirements

• Graduate of Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent professional qualification
• Atleast 3 years work related experience in the same field
• Proven experience as a Cost Accountant or similar role, preferably in the food and beverage or hospitality industry
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, cost analysis techniques and variance analysis
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel, with strong data analysis and modelling capabilities
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation and reporting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and opportunities
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
• Knowledge of restaurant operations and understanding of hospitality industry cost structures
