Job summary

GFI Enterprises Inc. is seeking a Cost Accountant to monitor, analyze, and report production costs. You will collaborate with Accounting, Production, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Operations to identify variances, improve cost control, and support management decisions.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accountancy or related business field with 2–3 years of cost accounting in a factory setup. Quezon City assignment; meticulous, detail-oriented, and trustworthy candidates preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in accountancy or related business field.
• 2–3 years cost accounting experience in a factory setting.
• Knowledge of inventory, product costing and variance analysis.

Responsibilities

• Collect and reconcile product cost elements (materials, labor, overhead).
• Prepare COGM reports, variance analyses and cost schedules.
• Conduct physical counts and month-end inventory closing.
• Monitor inventory movement and its impact on costing.
• Evaluate and update standard product costs when needed.
• Improve cost accounting systems for accuracy and efficiency.
• Suggest process improvements for cost reduction and efficiency.
• Prepare audit reports and management recommendations.
• Costing for new or developing products.
• Perform break-even analysis for projects.

About the role

The Cost Accountant is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and reporting the company's production costs to ensure accurate costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting. The position works closely with Accounting, Production, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Operations to identify cost variances, improve cost control, and support management in decision-making.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, analyze and reconcile all product cost elements including materials, labor, utilities and manufacturing overhead in terms of rates and utilization in line with the preparation of accurate product cost of items produced by the company

• Prepare the Cost of Good Manufactured Report, Variance Analysis Reports and other related product cost schedules

• Conduct and reconcile physical count inventory and prepare month-end inventory balance report and other related schedules

• Monitor and analyze inventory movement in line with product costing

• Analyze and evaluate periodically the standard product costs and recommend for updates, if deemed necessary

• Evaluate and improve the cost accounting system in order to capture and report product costs more accurately and effectively

• Recommend improvements in process in line with cost reduction and/or efficiency, in cooperation with pertinent departments

• Prepare and present audit reports and recommendations to management

• Prepare costing of new products and/or products under development

• Conduct break-even analysis for projects

About you

• Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy or any Business related course

• At least 2-3 years of experience in cost accounting in a factory setup

• Knowledgeable in inventory, product costing, and variance analysis

• Can work with minimal supervision, meticulous

• Detail-oriented, analytical, and trustworthy

• Willing to be assigned in Quezon City
