Job summary

Universal Robina Corp. is seeking a Lead Cost Accounting professional to govern cost accounting and inventory processes across multiple plants and BUs. You will supervise the financial closing, ensure timely reporting, and drive policy compliance with IFRS/GAAP and local tax rules.

The role requires strong analytical and leadership skills, hands-on SAP experience, and the ability to train and mentor a cost accounting team. Occasional plant travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA/CMA preferred.
• 5–7+ years in cost and general accounting with 3+ years in leadership.
• Experience in FMCG or plant finance is a plus.

• Lead Cost Accounting Center of Excellence and governance of cost accounting & inventory processes.
• Supervise financial closing for all plants and business units with accurate, timely reporting.
• Review reconciliations and financial statements; ensure policy compliance with IFRS/GAAP and local taxes.
• Coordinate with BU ISC finance to resolve discrepancies and maintain documentation.
• Analyze variances and provide insights and recommendations; prepare consolidated reports.

Job description

• Lead Cost Accounting Center of Excellence.
• Governance on Cost Accounting & Inventory processes. Leads regular results review with BUs.
• Lead and supervise a team responsible for financial closing process for all plants & BUs, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. Ensures service delivery within SLA.
• Review and validate account reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, IFRS/GAAP, and local tax regulations.
• Coordinate with BU ISC finance to resolve discrepancies and ensure proper documentation.
• Analyze variances on actual results, providing insights & recommendation
• Prepare consolidated financial reports on cost accounting for total URC.
• Main support on internal and external audits and work with the team to provide required documentation and explanations on time.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Collaborate with BU ISC Finance, procurement, and other departments to ensure financial integrity.
• Train, mentor, and manage team to enhance knowledge, efficiency, and compliance.
• Drive capability building initiatives within costing team & plant finance team.
• Back-up of Cost Accounting Analysts & Supervisor as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA and/ or CMA is preferred.
• 5 to 7+ years of progressive cost and general accounting experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.
• Experience in an FMCG, plant finance / accounting is a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with strict attention to detail.
• Comfortable in fast paced environment and technology changes.
• Willing to travel to the plant when needed.
