Job summary

JAYA GUNA LANCAR (JGL) INC. is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join Sta. Mesa, Manila operations. The role focuses on monitoring project costs, budgets, revenues, and profitability, working closely with the Finance, Operations, Procurement, and Project Teams.

This position helps ensure expenses stay within approved budgets and requires strong Excel skills and analytical thinking to support cost-control improvements. Sta. Mesa, Manila location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience in cost accounting, project accounting, budget monitoring, or financial reporting is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet-based reporting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor project revenue, costs, expenses, and profitability.
• Review and monitor project expenses against approved budgets.
• Track budget utilization and identify over-budget items, cost variances, and unusual spending.
• Prepare project cost reports, budget utilization reports, and variance analysis.
• Coordinate with Project and Operations Teams to verify project expenses, billings, and supporting documents.
• Review and validate POs, invoices, expense reports, and other project-related financial documents.
• Assist in monitoring project billings, collections, and outstanding balances.
• Analyze project financial performance and provide reports to management.
• Identify potential cost-control issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist in improving cost control procedures, reporting templates, and financial monitoring systems.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial and project cost records.
• Perform other accounting and financial analysis tasks as may be assigned.

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring project costs, budgets, revenues, and profitability, while working closely with the Finance, Operations, Procurement, and Project Teams.

This position plays an important role in ensuring that project expenses are properly monitored, supported by complete documentation, and kept within approved budgets.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor project revenue, costs, expenses, and profitability.

• Review and monitor project expenses against approved budgets.

• Experience in construction, telecommunications, engineering, or other project-based industries is highly preferred.
