Asaba Manufacturing Phils., Inc is seeking a seasoned Cost Accountant to lead cost analysis across product and manufacturing costs in Laguna/Calamba. You will prepare cost calculations, monitor variances, and produce management reports to support budgeting and decision-making.
The role requires at least five years in cost accounting in manufacturing, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with ERP systems. A CPA or related certification is advantageous and will be valued by the finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze product and manufacturing cost calculations, including material, labor, and overhead costs.
Monitor and analyze actual vs. standard costs and investigate significant variances.
Prepare monthly cost accounting reports, variance analysis, and management reports.
Maintain and update standard costs, cost sheets, and bills of materials (BOM).
Analyze manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
Perform inventory valuation, reconciliation, and analysis of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
Coordinate with Production, Purchasing, Engineering, Finance, and other departments to ensure accurate cost data.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities related to cost accounting and inventory.
Review manufacturing expenses and ensure proper cost allocation and accounting treatment.
Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.
Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and applicable accounting standards and controls.
Provide financial and cost analysis to management to support business and operational decisions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in Cost Accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, manufacturing costing, and inventory accounting.
Experience in standard costing, variance analysis, cost allocation, and inventory valuation.
Familiarity with BOM, standard cost, actual cost, labor cost, material cost, and manufacturing overhead.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, and data analysis.
Experience using ERP/accounting systems is highly preferred.
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data and reports.
Good communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
Ability to analyze financial and operational data and provide actionable cost insights.
Strong organizational skills and ability to meet monthly closing and reporting deadlines.
CPA license or relevant professional certification is an advantage.
