Job summary

BDO Unibank, Inc. is seeking a Corporate/Commercial Policy Review Section Head to oversee credit analysts, drive timely risk evaluations, and ensure adherence to risk policies within the Risk Management Group in Makati.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive credit and risk experience, and hands-on oversight of proposals, financial analysis, and portfolio reviews to maintain quality in the corporate lending book.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of actual credit/risk management experience in banking or financial institutions.
• At least three years leading a team of analysts.
• Amenable to work onsite in Makati or Ortigas.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a cluster of Credit Analysts to ensure timely risk-rated reviews.
• Reviews Credit Proposals, Executive Summaries, and Financial Analyses for new accounts and exposures.
• Provides inputs to credit proposals to balance risk and reward in corporate loans portfolio.
• Coordinates with Section Heads to anticipate deterioration and ensure downgrades/upgrades are timely.
• Oversees Rapid Portfolio Review when needed to assess impact of economic or regulatory issues.
• Consolidates and reviews reports to keep Credit Evaluation Head updated on major issues.
• Adheres to credit policies and promotes a strong credit and risk culture across the bank.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervises a cluster of teams of Credit Analysts to ensure that all borrowing accounts under the portfolio are appropriately reviewed, evaluated and risk-rated in a prompt and timely manner.
• Reviews Credit Proposals, Executive Summaries, Financial Analysis of new accounts, line, loan increases, and term loanexposures that has been reviewed by the Team head.
• Provides relevant inputs to credit proposals to achieve risk reward balance in the corporate loans portfolio.
• Coordinates with Section Heads in anticipating any deterioration in the quality of an account or group of accounts within the portfolio in the light of business and market developments and ensure that the pertinent accounts are downgraded or upgraded in a timely manner.
• When warranted, oversees a Rapid Portfolio Review to ascertain the adverse impact of an economic, political, or regulatory issue on the quality of the loan portfolio.
• Consolidates and reviews reports/ memos submitted by the Team Heads to ensure that Credit Evaluation Head is updated on all major credit issues relative to the corporate borrowing portfolio.
• Adheres to the Bank’s credit and risk policies and guidelines and contribute to RM’s goal of promoting a strong credit and risk culture across groups and units within the Bank.
• Performs other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications:

• At least seven (7) years of actual credit, risk management experience in a bank, financial institution
• WIth at least three (3) years have been devoted to handling a team of analyst
• Must be amenable to work onsite and be assigned in Makati or Ortigas
