About the role
The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food according to the company's standard recipes, quality standards, and food safety procedures. The Cook ensures that all food served is properly prepared, cooked, presented, and maintained at the required quality and quantity.
Key responsibilities
Prepare and cook food items according to approved recipes, portion sizes, and company standards.
Ensure the proper preparation, handling, storage, and cooking of ingredients.
Maintain the quality, taste, appearance, and consistency of all food products.
Check the freshness and quality of ingredients before use and report any damaged, spoiled, or insufficient supplies.
Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures at all times.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the kitchen, cooking equipment, workstations, and storage areas.
Properly operate and care for kitchen equipment and utensils.
Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is properly and safely cooked.
Minimize food wastage and properly store unused ingredients and prepared food.
Cooperate with other kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant operations.
About you
At least high school graduate or equivalent.
Previous experience as a Cook or in a restaurant/kitchen environment is preferred.
Knowledge of basic food preparation and cooking techniques.
Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation practices.
Able to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
Willing to work on weekends, holidays, shifting schedules, and overtime when required.
Good teamwork, discipline, and attention to cleanliness.
Honest, responsible, and willing to learn.
