Job summary

Aboitiz Power Corporation (Power) is seeking a Plant Operator to manage the operation, regulation, and monitoring of generating units, including the binary plant where applicable, to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable performance. The role involves startup/shutdown, parameter monitoring, and coordination with maintenance and system operators.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, is a licensed ME/RE, and has at least 3 years of relevant plant

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Must be a Registered Mechanical Engineer or Registered Electrical Engineer.
• With at least three (3) years of relevant experience in geothermal, thermal, or industrial plant operations and maintenance.
• 1 vacant position available in Calauan, Laguna.

Responsibilities

• Optimizes the efficiency of generating units by regular and close monitoring of the parameters.
• Performs startup and/or shutdown of generating units in a timely and safe manner per SOP.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, grid substation engineer and system operator for remote switching of breakers and disconnects.
• Conducts functional tests of plant protections, standby and emergency equipment as part of preventive maintenance.
• Assists other groups in commissioning and testing of new and existing equipment undergoing maintenance.
• Records hourly readings of critical parameters and prepares daily operation reports.
• Ensures ERC and regulatory reporting and monitors RTD/DAS for load scheduling.
• Monitors the binary plant operation (if applicable) and ensures safety and compliance.
