Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in an administrative or related role
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment when handling ambiguity
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and joinery drawings and specifications; training will be provided, though exposure to construction documentation is preferred
- Confidence discussing scope and costs with clients, builders, and architects
- Numeracy and an understanding of how variations and credits affect project value
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and the ability to learn new quoting systems
- Initiative, self-motivation, and accountability for managing processes from start to finish
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience in construction, joinery, contract administration, estimating support, price quoting, or architectural drafting highly regarded but not essential
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for each project immediately after the sale, serving as the commercial link between the Estimator, client, and delivery and production teams.
- Prepare, issue, and track contract variations, including pricing changes, scope adjustments, and credits, through to approval.
- Interpret architectural drawings and specifications to assess the commercial impact of project changes.
- Maintain accurate records of sold values, approved variations, credits, and current contract values.
- Enter and update project and quote data in the new quoting and estimating system, supporting its rollout and ongoing accuracy.
- Liaise with clients, builders, and architects to clarify scope and resolve commercial discrepancies.
- Prepare invoicing and progress claim documentation in line with contract terms.
- Flag commercial risks and scope creep to Estimating and Management as they arise.
- Hand over final account information and close-out documentation at project completion.
- Identify opportunities to streamline or standardize recurring administrative tasks as systems and processes develop.
