Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking a Planning professional to develop and maintain production plans for contract manufacturers, ensuring adherence to schedules and timely delivery.

The role requires coordinating closely with contract manufacturers and interdepartmental teams to align on forecasts, material availability, and inventory management. You will monitor ERP/MRP data, support NPI ramp-ups, and drive continuous improvements in lead times and costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent with at least 2 years of planning experience.
• Experience in coordinating with contract manufacturers and managing production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production plans for contract manufacturers based on demand forecasts and customer requirements.
• Coordinate with contract manufacturers to ensure adherence to production schedules and delivery commitments.
• Monitor material availability to support production plans and prevent delays.
• Track and manage inventory levels (FG, WIP, raw materials) to avoid shortages or excess.
• Expedite critical orders and resolve supply or production issues proactively.
• Collaborate with procurement to align supplier capacity and constraints.
• Analyze demand fluctuations and adjust plans accordingly.
• Ensure data accuracy in ERP/MRP systems (forecast, orders, inventory, lead times).
• Support new product introduction (NPI) planning and ramp-up activities.
• Generate planning reports, KPIs, and performance metrics.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives with contract manufacturers (lead time reduction, efficiency, cost optimization).

Education & Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or its equivalents with at least 2 years of relevant work experience in Planning (functional skills)

• Possess strong interpersonal skills and enjoy the process of problem-solving
• Microsoft knowledge
• Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp.
