About the Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and insights-driven Consumer Research Manager to lead end-to-end consumer and market research initiatives that support strategic business decisions. This role plays a critical part in understanding customer behaviors, preferences, motivations, and market trends to help drive product innovation, customer experience improvements, and marketing effectiveness.
The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams and research partners to transform data into actionable business insights that contribute to the organization's growth and customer-centric strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end consumer research projects, from research design and execution to insight generation and presentation.
- Develop research briefs aligned with business, marketing, and strategic objectives.
- Conduct and oversee qualitative and quantitative studies, including:
- Focus Group Discussions (FGDs)
- In-Depth Interviews (IDIs)
- Consumer Surveys
- Usage & Attitude (U&A) Studies
- Concept and Product Testing
- Analyze consumer behaviors, attitudes, needs, and motivations to identify business opportunities and market trends.
Insights & Strategic Recommendations
- Translate research findings into clear, actionable, and business-relevant recommendations.
- Support decision-making through customer, brand, product, and campaign evaluations.
- Identify emerging consumer trends, market shifts, and competitor activities.
- Partner closely with Marketing, Product, Business, and Strategy teams to integrate insights into key initiatives.
- Manage relationships with external research agencies and vendors, ensuring quality, timeliness, and relevance of deliverables.
- Present research findings and strategic recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders.
Knowledge Management & Governance
- Maintain a centralized repository of research findings, learnings, and consumer insights.
- Ensure research practices comply with ethical standards, industry best practices, and organizational guidelines.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Psychology, Business Administration, Communication Research, Economics, Statistics, or related field.
- Master's degree in Marketing, Business, Behavioral Science, or a related discipline is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in Consumer Research, Market Research, Consumer Insights, or Analytics.
- Proven experience handling both qualitative and quantitative research projects.
- Experience in FMCG, Retail, Financial Services, FinTech, or Consulting is an advantage.
- Experience managing research agencies and vendors is preferred.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of consumer behavior and decision-making frameworks.
- Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
- Experience in:
- Market and competitive analysis
- Brand tracking and campaign evaluation
- Customer experience measurement
- Knowledge of financial services and digital products is a plus.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent storytelling and insight presentation capabilities.
- Ability to translate complex data into actionable business recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proven project management and research planning abilities.
- Proficiency in survey platforms, research tools, and data analysis software.
- High attention to detail and strong synthesis skills.
Preferred Certifications
- Certifications in Market Research, Consumer Insights, or Data Analytics.
- ESOMAR accreditation or equivalent professional credentials are advantageous.
