Job summary

SM Development Corporation is seeking a Safety Officer to implement and monitor safety programs across its construction sites in Metro Manila. You will collaborate with the Construction Management team and contractors to ensure regulatory and company safety standards are met and to promote a strong safety culture.

The role includes hazard identification, risk assessments, and delivering safety training to ensure workers follow established safety protocols and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
• OSHA/OSH experience in construction industry (minimum 5 years).
• DOLE-certified accredited Safety Practitioner is a plus.
• Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills to lead across multiple teams.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
• Ability to adapt to change and manage competing demands.

Responsibilities

• Ensure regulatory compliance across SMDC sites and with government agencies.
• Identify hazards and conduct risk assessments; promote HSE standards.
• Monitor incidents and drive corrective actions; lead investigations.
• Lead training and awareness initiatives; cascade safety information.
• Foster a culture of safety; engage stakeholders across projects.
