MM Concrete Construction is seeking an experienced Concrete Estimator / Quantity Takeoff Specialist in the Philippines to handle plan reviews, detailed takeoffs, and bid preparation for commercial concrete projects. • Build and maintain estimate spreadsheets in Excel, accounting for material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Obtain and review pricing from suppliers and subcontractors as needed.

• Identify missing information, scope gaps, plan discrepancies, and potential cost risks before bids are submitted.
• Verify quantities, calculations, pricing, and estimating assumptions for accuracy.
• Manage multiple assignments and bid deadlines with organized project records.
• Communicate progress, questions, and potential delays proactively.

MM Concrete Construction is a concrete contractor serving Central Texas, specializing in commercial concrete construction, including foundations, piers, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, retaining walls, concrete paving, tilt walls, demolition, and pourbacks.

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Concrete Estimator / Quantity Takeoff Specialist who can take estimating assignments from reviewing construction plans through detailed quantity takeoffs and complete bid preparation.

This is not an entry-level position. We need someone with direct commercial concrete estimating experience who understands concrete construction, can identify potential scope issues, and can produce accurate, competitive estimates with minimal supervision.

The right person will be dependable, detail-oriented, proactive in communication, and capable of managing estimating assignments and deadlines independently.

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans, specifications, addenda, and bid documents.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs using PlanSwift.
• Prepare estimates for commercial concrete scopes, including slabs, foundations, footings, grade beams, piers, reinforcing steel, formwork, paving, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, and retaining walls.
• Build and maintain estimate spreadsheets in Excel, accounting for applicable material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Obtain and review pricing from suppliers, concrete plants, reinforcing steel suppliers, pump companies, and subcontractors as needed.
• Prepare organized bid proposals, quantity summaries, scope sheets, inclusions, exclusions, and supporting documentation.
• Identify missing information, scope gaps, plan discrepancies, and potential cost risks before bids are submitted.
• Verify quantities, calculations, pricing, and estimating assumptions for accuracy.
• Manage multiple assignments and bid deadlines while maintaining organized project records.
• Communicate progress, questions, and potential delays proactively.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of hands-on commercial concrete estimating experience.
• PlanSwift experience is preferred, but candidates with strong experience using comparable takeoff software will be considered.
• Proven ability to complete detailed takeoffs and full concrete estimates independently.
• Strong understanding of commercial concrete construction methods, materials, and scopes of work.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
• Proficiency in Excel and construction cost-estimating principles.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Clear written and spoken English for discussing estimates and clarifying technical questions.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
• Ability to manage deadlines, take ownership of assignments, and work with minimal supervision.
• Reliable internet connection and availability to work full-time during Central Time business hours.

Please note: Experience limited primarily to earthwork, dirt, utilities, or general civil takeoffs does not meet the commercial concrete estimating requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience estimating commercial concrete projects for U.S. or North American contractors.
• Familiarity with U.S. construction drawings, bid packages, and estimating practices.
• Experience preparing complete, bid-ready estimates with limited supervision.

Compensation

The expected rate is $10-$15 USD per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated capability. Higher compensation may be considered for candidates with exceptional commercial concrete estimating experience and a proven record of independent, accurate work.
