The Company Nurse delivers comprehensive occupational health services, emergency medical care, and wellness support across the resort property. In addition to clinical care, this role carries substantial administrative responsibilities, including managing health records, tracking medical inventory, processing insurance/workers' compensation documents, and assisting HR with compliance reporting.
1. Clinical Care & Emergency Response
Provide immediate nursing care, basic life support (BLS), and first aid to employees suffering from illness or workplace injury.
Act as the primary on-site responder for emergency medical situations involving employees and guests prior to the arrival of local emergency services.
Assess, triage, and coordinate transport or referrals to external clinics/hospitals when higher-level medical care is required.
2. Administrative & Health Records Management
Medical Documentation: Maintain complete, confidential, and organized digital employee health records, daily consultation logs, and medical histories in compliance with privacy laws.
Insurance & Workers' Comp Claims: Prepare and file paperwork for work-related injury claims, health insurance processing, and government social security/disability medical forms.
Sick Leave Verification: Review and record employee medical certificates, track sick leave patterns, and issue "Fit-to-Work" clearances before employees return to duty.
Vendor & Hospital Coordination: Liaise with local hospitals, health maintenance organizations (HMOs), testing laboratories, and medical suppliers to manage contracts, billing, and services.
3. Clinic Administration & Inventory Control
Stock & Equipment Management: Conduct regular inventories of pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, and PPE; issue purchase requisitions to replenish stock before expiration.
First-Aid Station Audits: Regularly inspect and restock first-aid kits located across all resort departments (Kitchens, Housekeeping, Engineering, Recreations).
Clinic Maintenance: Oversee clinic hygiene, equipment calibration schedules, and proper disposal of biohazardous waste.
4. Regulatory Compliance & Occupational Health
Schedule and track pre-employment medical examinations, annual physical checks, and food-handler medical permits with HR.
Log workplace accidents, compile monthly safety/health metrics, and assist in preparing reports for government health and safety agencies (e.g., OSHA / Department of Labor).
Participate in resort Health & Safety Committee meetings to present health trends and incident statistics.
5. Employee Wellness & Health Education
Plan and administer resort wellness initiatives (e.g., annual flu vaccination drives, blood donations, ergonomic assessments).
Provide health counseling on lifestyle management, stress reduction, hygiene standards, and preventive care.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent accredited nursing degree.
License & Certifications:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
BLS and ACLS certifications.
Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) or Occupational Health Nurse certification preferred.
Experience: 2+ years of nursing experience (occupational health, ER, or resort setting preferred).
Technical & Admin Skills:
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and HRIS/Electronic Health Record systems.
Strong documentation, record-keeping, and administrative organization skills.
