Job summary

Guang Ming College in Tagaytay is seeking a Library Director to lead library administration, collection development, reference services, information literacy programs, and digital innovation within the institution. The role encompasses strategic planning, personnel management, technology implementation, and compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.

The position requires CHED-aligned planning, a PRC certification, and a LIS graduate degree, with 2–3 years in a supervisory capacity.

Qualifications

• Must be certified by the Board of Librarians under PRC.
• Graduate degree in LIS or related field.
• Experience with digital library systems and digital repository management.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies, including AI applications in libraries.
• 2–3 years of progressively responsible supervisory experience.
• Resident near Tagaytay campus or willing to relocate for a 5-day workweek.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement library policies, rules, and procedures consistent with institutional and CHED standards.
• Prepare and administer the annual library budget.
• Develop and implement the Library Development Plan & Operations Manual aligned with academic programs.
• Supervise library personnel and oversee staff performance evaluation.
• Evaluate, select, and acquire print, non-print, and electronic resources aligned with curricular and research needs.
• Conduct regular collection assessment and weeding.
• Ensure proper cataloging and classification using RDA, MARC21, DDC/LCC.
• Manage subscriptions to academic databases, journals, and e-resources.
• Set up, manage and maintain digital library systems and digital repository.
• Evaluate and implement AI tools to enhance library services and provide guidance on ethical use of generative AI in academic research.

About you

• Must be certified by the Board of Librarians under the supervision of the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC)

• Must have a Graduate Degree in Library and Information Science (LIS) or related field

• Has knowledge in setting up Digital library systems and digital repository management

• Has knowledge in Emerging technologies in libraries, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in libraries

• At least two (2) to three (3) years of progressively responsible experience, including supervisory functions

• Preferably a resident near Tagaytay campus or willing to relocate for a 5-day workweek
