About the role

We are seeking a dynamic, service-oriented, and experienced Licensed Librarian to manage our library resources, facilitate research, and support our learning community. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in modern library science, excellent organizational skills, and a passion for connecting patrons with information.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate, select, acquire, and weed library materials (print and digital) to ensure a relevant, up-to-date collection that aligns with institutional goals
• Provide expert reference and research assistance to students, faculty, researchers, and community patrons using both physical and electronic databases
• Oversee cataloging, classification, circulation, and inventory management using Integrated Library Systems (ILS)
• Design and conduct library orientation sessions, information literacy workshops, and training on how to effectively use research databases and citation tools
• Establish and enforce library policies, maintain a quiet and productive study environment, and manage facility operations
• Stay current with emerging library technologies, digital archiving trends, and online resource management to improve patron accessibility
• Prepare periodic reports on library usage, circulation statistics, acquisition budgets, and program effectiveness

About you

• Must be a Registered/Licensed Librarian (possess a valid license issued by the Professional Regulation Commission or relevant governing body)
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library and Information Science (BLIS / MLIS)
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years of professional experience working in an academic, public, or special library setting
• Hands-on experience with modern Integrated Library Systems (ILS), online public access catalogs (OPAC), electronic resource management, and standard office productivity software
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills, with a strong ability to assist diverse user groups
