Job summary

Elsevier is seeking a Systems Engineer II to join our AWS-focused team. You will support deployment, troubleshooting, and automation initiatives across live products, collaborating with product and engineering to drive process improvements and scalable infrastructure.

You will help implement observability, automation, and robust architectures while maintaining thorough documentation and adherence to best practices.

Qualifications

Experience supporting cloud infrastructure, automation, or DevOps tasks.
Hands-on with cloud platforms (AWS).
Understanding of Cloud/DevOps tools and automation.
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
Scripting in Python.
Kubernetes with Helm experience.
Troubleshooting in cloud/container environments.
Proactive in automating repetitive tasks.
Proficiency with Linux systems and CLI.
Proficiency with CI tools like Github Actions.

Responsibilities

Support cloud infrastructure deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting (AWS).
Assist in automating operational tasks and workflows.
Implement observability with monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic).
Contribute to scalable, resilient application architectures.
Support documentation and standard operating procedures.
