The Cloud Engineer is responsible for the hands‑on design, deployment, automation, and operational support of AWS infrastructure. This role ensures cloud environments are secure, reliable, and optimized, while enabling application teams through CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps practices.
Work Setup: Hybrid – 4 times a week on site, 1 day remote (flexible)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure (EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, IAM, CloudWatch).
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using CloudFormation and/or Terraform.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated application and infrastructure deployments.
- Implement security best practices, including IAM policies, network controls, encryption, and logging.
- Support application deployments, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Configure observability (metrics, logs, alerts) and participate in incident response.
- Optimize resource utilization and cost through rightsizing and automation.
- Collaborate with Architects and Infrastructure teams to implement approved designs.
- Document runbooks, standard operating procedures, and deployment patterns.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3–6+ years of hands‑on AWS engineering experience.
- Strong experience with CloudFormation and/or Terraform.
- Solid understanding of networking, IAM, and security controls in AWS.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CodePipeline).
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, or similar).
