Job summary

AIA Digital+ is seeking an AKS Engineer to design, build, and operate secure Kubernetes platforms on Microsoft Azure. You will deploy workloads, automate provisioning with Terraform, and implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in Cloud Infrastructure/Platform Engineering, strong scripting skills in PowerShell/Bash/Python, and deep knowledge of AKS, Docker, and cloud security best practices. Excellent collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
• 5+ years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with AKS and Kubernetes administration.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with Terraform or Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with Kubernetes networking concepts.
• Strong troubleshooting skills in production cloud environments.
• Experience with monitoring and logging platforms.
• Knowledge of Azure networking, DNS, load balancing, and cloud security best practices.
• Scripting with PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, manage, and optimize Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters.
• Administer Kubernetes workloads, node pools, ingress, scaling, networking, and storage.
• Build and maintain Docker containers and Kubernetes deployment configurations.
• Implement and support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes, infrastructure, networking, and application deployment issues.
• Implement Kubernetes and Azure security best practices including RBAC, network policies, secrets management, and workload identity.
• Support high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and platform reliability initiatives.
• Collaborate with development and architecture teams to improve platform scalability and deployment efficiency.
• Create and maintain operational documentation, standards, and runbooks.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.

About the Role

Responsible for managing information technology infrastructure as well as applications and software within AIA and providing technical support to internal users.

The AKS Engineer is responsible for designing, building, automating, and supporting enterprise Kubernetes platforms within Microsoft Azure. This role requires deep hands-on expertise with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), cloud-native technologies, Infrastructure as Code (laC), CI/CD automation, and platform operations in large-scale production environments.
