Job summary

AIA Philippines seeks a Cloud Operations Specialist to support Azure cloud services across the enterprise, ensuring high availability, security, and scalable operations. You will handle provisioning, monitoring, and governance while collaborating with IT and business teams.

The role requires 5+ years in cloud engineering/support, strong Azure/AKS/Kubernetes expertise, and hands-on CI/CD with Terraform. Hybrid work involves 3–4 days on site with on-call duties as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Cloud Engineering / Support roles with public cloud experience.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, AKS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Proficient in CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (Terraform).
• Knowledge of RBAC, network security and cloud governance best practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage and administer the Microsoft Azure cloud env, including provisioning and monitoring.
• Analyze operations to improve standards, processes and governance.
• Support cloud adoption during application modernization and migrations.
• Work a 24/7 shift roster and implement changes while resolving incidents.

Job description

The Cloud Operations Specialist will provide day-to-day support to all AIA business units using AIA’s Azure public cloud platform including but not limited to incident-, change-, request- and problem management. This role focuses on leveraging azure services administration tasks and optimizing cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.

• Employment Type: Full Time/Permanent, Individual Contributor
• Work Schedule: 24/7 Shifting Schedule, Mondays to Fridays w/ possible on call arrangement
• Work Set-up: Hybrid set-up; 3-4 days onsite per week

Roles and Responsibilities:

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Manage and administer the Microsoft Azure cloud environment, including provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, policy governance which are more demanding and complex.
• Analyse existing operational standards, processes, and/or governance to identify and implement improvements.
• Support cloud adoption of applications as they are being transformed and/or modernized.
• Work as part of 24/7 shift roster to implement changes and requests and resolve incidents.
• Provide training and support to team members.
• Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues and Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders.
• Provide technical support and guidance.

Experience:

• 5+ years relevant experience in Cloud Engineering / Support role
• Excellent understanding and proven experience in Public Cloud implementation, workload migration and operational support in a multi-site enterprise environment.
• Practical experience of supporting Enterprise Public Cloud Services and automation
• Experience within a decentralized organization, preferably within the Group unit.
• Sound understanding of IT operating model design and best practices.
• Experience in top tier multinational corporation will be an advantage.
• Liaise with service providers to ensure that operational processes (backup, patching, provisioning, monitoring) for service follow-up and incident management.

• Design, deploy, manage, and optimize Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters.
• Administer Kubernetes workloads, node pools, ingress, scaling, networking, and storage.

• Implement and support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes, infrastructure, networking, and application deployment issues.
• Implement Kubernetes and Azure security best practices including RBAC, network policies, secrets management, and workload identity.
• Support high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and platform reliability initiatives.
• Collaborate with development and architecture teams to improve platform scalability and deployment efficiency.
• Create and maintain operational documentation, standards, and runbooks.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
