Job summary

Avaloq is expanding its global footprint and seeking a DevOps Middleware Engineer to join the APAC & UK Cloud & Infrastructure Delivery Unit. You will build cloud-based banking environments on OCI, implement IaC with Terraform, and deploy containerized middleware on Kubernetes/OpenShift, delivering production-ready platforms.

You will own middleware deployments, install JBoss, WebLogic, and Tomcat, ensure security and performance, and support transition to Run/Operations teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or IT or equivalent experience
• Strong Linux knowledge with cloud exposure
• Hands-on Terraform, Ansible, Git and IaC practices
• Experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift and containerized workloads
• Experience with J2EE servers (JBoss, WebLogic, Tomcat)
• Understanding networking, SFTP, SSL and certificate management

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver cloud-based Avaloq environments on OCI
• Implement IaC using Terraform-based tooling
• Install, configure and deploy middleware and application servers
• Deploy workloads on Kubernetes/OpenShift
• Ensure automated, repeatable environment delivery per Avaloq standards
• Deliver production-ready environments for Run/Operations handover
• Validate environments against security, compliance, and performance requirements
• Prepare handover documentation and support go-live activities
• Coordinate with architecture, automation and project management teams
• Provide accurate progress tracking and status updates
