Job summary

Avaloq Philippines Inc. seeks a seasoned Cloud Database Delivery Engineer to build and deliver Oracle database environments on OCI, using IaC and Avaloq EM.

You will provision end-to-end databases across development, testing and production, ensure backups, high availability, and seamless handover to Run teams. The role requires strong Linux/Unix database expertise, Terraform/Ansible/Git automation, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or IT or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of Oracle DBA experience in enterprise environments.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other cloud platforms.
• Strong experience installing and configuring Oracle databases on Linux/Unix.
• Experience with RMAN and Data Guard for backup and high availability.
• Hands-on with Terraform, Ansible, Git for IaC and automation.
• Scripting in Shell or Python for automation and operations.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Job Description

We are responsible for building and delivering cloud-based banking environments that are fully operationally ready, ensuring a seamless transition to Run teams and long-term stability of Avaloq platforms.

We are looking for a Cloud Database Delivery Engineer to join our collaborative Cloud & Infrastructure Delivery Unit (APAC & UK). In this role, you will implement, configure, and deliver database platforms for cloud-based environments, working closely with architecture and automation teams to transform approved designs into fully deployed, integrated, and production-ready solutions within defined project timelines.

Database Platform Implementation & Delivery

• Build and deliver Oracle database environments on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)


• Implement database infrastructure using Avaloq Environment Modeling (EM), leveraging Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code (IaC)


• Execute end-to-end database provisioning, configuration, and setup across development, test, and production environments


• Configure database instances, storage, and integration with platform components


• Ensure environments are delivered in a consistent, automated, and repeatable manner aligned with Avaloq standards


• Deliver production-ready database platforms prepared for handover to Run/Operations teams

Database Configuration, Migration & Integration

• Install, configure, and deploy Oracle databases on Linux/Unix platforms


• Configure backup, recovery, and high availability mechanisms (e.g. RMAN, Data Guard)


• Execute database upgrades, migrations, and transformation activities within project timelines


• Perform data migration, validation, and environment cutover activities


• Ensure database configurations comply with security, performance, and operational standards


• Support integration of databases with middleware and application layers

Operational Readiness & Transition

• Validate delivered database environments against operational, security, and compliance requirements


• Implement monitoring, alerting, backup, and recovery configurations


• Support performance validation and readiness testing prior to go-live


• Prepare and deliver handover documentation to Run/Operations teams


• Support go-live and stabilization phases

Project Delivery Execution

• Execute delivery tasks in line with project scope, timelines, and quality expectations


• Work closely with architecture, automation, and project management teams


• Identify and resolve delivery blockers and technical dependencies


• Provide accurate progress tracking, effort estimates, and status updates

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or IT, or equivalent professional experience


• 5+ years of Oracle DBA experience in enterprise environments


• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or other cloud platforms


• Strong experience installing and configuring Oracle databases on Linux/Unix


• Experience with backup and recovery (RMAN) and high availability solutions (Data Guard)


• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Git)


• Scripting experience (e.g. Shell, Python, or similar) for automation and operational tasks


• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
