Job summary

Risewave Consulting, Inc. seeks Cloud Operations Engineers to maintain highly available AWS and multi-cloud production environments. You will collaborate with SRE partners, troubleshoot complex incidents, and manage Kubernetes workloads with code-driven automation.

The role offers two levels; the Senior CloudOps Engineer will mentor juniors, lead high-severity incidents, and influence operational strategy, while the Cloud Operations Engineer will drive engineering projects to raise standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience for Cloud Operations Engineer; 5+ years for Senior CloudOps Engineer, with hands-on production experience in AWS.
• Hands-on experience with at least one other public cloud (Azure, Google Cloud or Alibaba Cloud), or senior-level production experience in GCP/Azure with strong cloud architecture fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Keep mission-critical AWS and multi-cloud environments highly available, performant and secure.
• Act as an escalation point, leading investigations, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Operate Kubernetes-based workloads and manage cloud resources as code.
• Automate recurring tasks, and contribute to documentation, reporting and data analysis.
• Recommend solutions that improve systems and operations.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on cloud platforms and influence operational strategy.
• Senior level: take ownership of high-severity incidents, run blameless post-mortems, review technical changes, mentor junior engineers, and help prioritize work across teams
• Cloud Operations Engineer: take on engineering projects that raise technical standards

• Hands-on experience with at least one other public cloud (Azure, Google Cloud or Alibaba Cloud), or senior-level production experience in GCP/Azure with strong cloud architecture fundamentals
• Kubernetes experience in production (EKS, GKE, AKS or bare-metal)
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tooling (Git, GitLab/GitHub, Jenkins, Artifactory, Spinnaker) and infrastructure as code (Terraform or Crossplane)
• Strong troubleshooting across networking, storage, compute and platform layers
• For Senior level: demonstrated technical leadership or mentoring experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Service mesh (Istio, Kyverno, Consul) or Karpenter autoscaling
• Scripting in Python, Bash or Go
• AWS, CKA or CKAD certifications
