Job summary

NCS Philippines is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer (Mid to Senior) to design, implement and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure in Makati City, Metro Manila. The role focuses on architecting solutions across AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, ensuring security and high performance while mentoring junior engineers.

The position requires 5+ years of cloud engineering experience, strong IaC skills (Terraform, CloudFormation or Ansible), containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and solid scripting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent professional experience
• 5+ years of professional experience in cloud engineering or infrastructure roles
• Demonstrated expertise in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud) with relevant certifications
• Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation or Ansible
• Solid understanding of containerisation and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
• Knowledge of cloud security, networking and identity management
• Scripting/programming in Python, Bash or PowerShell
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Preferred: monitoring/logging, DevOps practices, microservices

Responsibilities

About the role:

NCS Philippines is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer (Mid to Senior) to join our growing technology team on a full-time basis in Makati City, Metro Manila. This is a strategic position that plays a critical role in designing, implementing and maintaining our cloud infrastructure and services. As a Cloud Engineer at this level, you will be responsible for architecting scalable cloud solutions, ensuring optimal performance and security, and mentoring junior team members. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-impact projects whilst contributing to the company's digital transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and architect cloud solutions utilising industry-standard platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud, with a focus on scalability, security and cost-efficiency


• Implement and manage cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, databases, networking and storage solutions


• Deploy, monitor and maintain cloud-based applications and services, ensuring high availability and performance


• Develop and execute cloud migration strategies to move on-premises systems to cloud environments


• Implement and manage containerisation technologies including Docker and Kubernetes for application deployment


• Establish and maintain cloud security best practices, including identity management, encryption and compliance protocols


• Optimise cloud costs through resource management, capacity planning and continuous monitoring


• Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues, providing technical support to development and operations teams


• Mentor and guide junior cloud engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and professional development within the team


• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cloud solutions align with business objectives and technical requirements


• Document cloud architecture, configurations and procedures to ensure consistency and knowledge transfer

What we're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent professional experience
