Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent.
• Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian (RND) with PRC license.
• Clinical or therapeutic dietetics experience in hospital setting preferred.
• Fresh graduates with PRC license may be considered depending on requirements.
• Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy and nutrition care processes.

About the role

The Clinical/Therapeutic Dietitian is responsible for providing evidence-based medical nutrition therapy to patients based on their medical condition, nutritional status, and treatment plan. The role conducts nutrition assessment, develops and monitors individualized therapeutic diet plans, provides nutrition counseling and education, and collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team to support optimal patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nutritional screening and assessment of patients using relevant clinical, dietary, anthropometric, and laboratory information.

• Identify patients who are malnourished or at nutritional risk and recommend appropriate nutrition interventions.

• Develop individualized nutrition care plans and therapeutic diets based on patients' diagnoses, nutritional requirements, and treatment goals.

• Provide medical nutrition therapy for patients with conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular and renal diseases, gastrointestinal disorders, obesity, malnutrition, and other acute or chronic conditions.

• Recommend appropriate oral nutrition supplementation, enteral nutrition, and other nutrition interventions within established hospital protocols and scope of practice.

• Regularly monitor patients' nutritional status, intake, tolerance, and response to nutrition interventions and modify care plans as appropriate.

• Participate in patient rounds and multidisciplinary case discussions when required.

• Review and validate prescribed therapeutic diets to ensure they are appropriate for the patient's clinical and nutritional requirements.

• Coordinate with Dietary/Food Service personnel to ensure accurate preparation and delivery of prescribed diets.

• Provide individualized nutrition counseling to patients and their families or caregivers.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or an equivalent program recognized in the Philippines.

• Must be a Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian (RND) with a valid Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) license.

• Clinical or therapeutic dietetics experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is preferred.

• Fresh graduates who are licensed RNDs may be considered, depending on hospital requirements.

• Knowledge of medical nutrition therapy and clinical nutrition care processes.

• Knowledge of therapeutic diets, nutrition assessment, and patient counseling.

• Familiarity with enteral nutrition and nutrition support principles.

• Ability to interpret relevant laboratory and clinical information for nutrition care.

• Strong communication, counseling, documentation, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
