Job summary

Function Pune is seeking an experienced obstetrics and gynecology physician to manage patient care in the department of Obstetrics & Gynecology. The role includes examining patients, documenting histories, and coordinating with consultants on admissions and care plans.

You will determine necessary investigations, follow results, handle emergencies with the team, conduct daily rounds, and ensure medico-legal compliance. You will also prepare patients for procedures and oversee discharge processes.

Responsibilities

• Receive the patient, examine her, and document history and findings in the indoor case sheet.
• Inform and coordinate with primary consultants regarding patient admission and plan of care.
• Decide investigations to be done and treatments to be carried out.
• Follow up on investigation reports and communicate results to primary consultants.
• Take appropriate actions in emergencies in consultation with the primary consultant.
• Perform detailed daily rounds and document dates and times in progress notes.
• Follow medico-legal formalities.
• Coordinate with staff nurse and colleagues for smooth handover to the next duty doctor.
• Counsel and inform patients and relatives about condition as required.
• Prepare patients for procedures and operations and explain procedures, alternatives, and risks.
• Coordinate discharge with consultants and nursing staff, and prepare discharge summaries.

Job Description

1.Receive the patient, examine her, writing history and findings in the indoor case sheet. To take patients &/or relatives Signature for authentication of information provided and noted.

2.Inform and co-ordinate with primary consultants regarding patient admission and plan of care.

3.Decide investigation to be done and treatment to be carried out

4.To follow up on investigation reports and communicate the results to primary consultants.

5.To take appropriate actions in emergency situations and treat the patient in consultation with the primary consultant.

6.To take detailed daily rounds at the time of reporting and leaving duty, to write relevant dates and time in progress note.

7.Follow all medico legal formalities.

8.To work in coordinator with staff nurse and colleague doctors to perform detailed handing over of the patient to the next duty doctor.

9.To counsel and inform patients condition to patient &/or relatives as and when required.

10.Prepare the patients for procedure and operations

11.Explain the procedure, alternatives and the associated risk to patients and her relatives.

12.Coordinate the discharge of the patients with primary consultants and nursing staff.

13.Prepare discharge summary and explain the same to patients.
