Job summary

Octaland Construction is seeking a competent Civil Engineer for field roles in Metro Manila. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering and at least one year of hands-on site experience, with demonstrated leadership in college projects.

You will prepare quantity takeoffs, estimates, and bills of quantities, and read drawings and specs. You will visit sites regularly to monitor progress, coordinate with engineers, architects, and subcontractors, and support safety and quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least 1 year of hands-on construction site experience.
• Leadership demonstrated in college roles (e.g., student org officer, project team leader).
• Good knowledge of quantity takeoffs, material and cost estimates, and bills of quantities.
• Able to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in Canva, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, PlanSwift, AutoCAD, and Google Workspace apps.
• Able to communicate clearly and work well with engineers, architects, workers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Organized, responsible, and able to follow through on tasks.
• Willing to learn, receptive to feedback, and committed to developing skills.
• Willing to conduct regular site visits for inspections, progress monitoring, and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quantity takeoffs, material requirements, cost estimates, and bills of quantities.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress, workmanship, and compliance with plans and specs.
• Coordinate with project team, suppliers, and subcontractors on site requirements and work schedules.
• Assist in supervising manpower and communicating daily work assignments.
• Prepare site reports, progress updates, presentations, and supporting documentation.
• Monitor material usage and deliveries against project requirements.
• Report site concerns promptly and coordinate proposed solutions with supervising engineer or project manager.
• Follow company procedures and support site safety and quality requirements.
