Job summary

HANSEI CORPORATION in the Philippines seeks a Civil/Architectural Design Lead to drive the Civil and Architectural design on Renewable Energy projects. You will identify innovative solutions, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, and develop construction drawings and cost-effective design options.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, a licensed professional registration, and at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Licensed Civil Engineer with professional registration.
• At least 2 years of relevant design experience in civil or architectural projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the detail design activities including design criteria, tower loading, site development, and construction drawings.
• Prepare bid documents and project proposals for Civil and Architectural scopes.
• Review design documents and drawings for substation project implementation.
• Develop design methodologies, reports, and correspondences.
• Evaluate design options to balance cost and design quality, and present recommendations.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure quality, schedule, and cost targets.
• Attend technical meetings and perform project cost estimation and proposals.
• Conduct site inspections and resolve construction queries.

About the role

Responsible for leading the conduct of design on the Civil and Architectural portion of the Renewable Energy Projects. Proactively identify special solutions and studies that innovatively solve unique and complex design problems. Contribute to the development and execution of the Division's strategy. The position requires use of advanced techniques and modification and extension of theories, precept and practices in the field of civil and architectural design.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake the detail design activities, i.e., design criteria, tower loading diagram, site development, foundation designs, structural evaluation, station layout design, facilities design, complex design studies, bill of materials, technical data sheets, specifications and production of construction drawings of various projects.

• Prepares the bid documents and /or project proposals for Civil and Architectural and liaises with other groups to ensure the full scope is covered. Spearheads the review of the design documents, manufacturers/contractor's drawings submitted for review and approval relative to the implementation of the project.

• Prepares design methodologies, memoranda, reports, and correspondences.

• Undertakes the evaluation of design options to achieve the best possible balance between cost and design option, and submitted the subsequent recommendation for Management approval.

• Coordinates the design activities with multi-disciplined engineering group/team that will affect the quality, schedule and cost of the substation project.

• Attends appropriate technical meetings either site or office based to ensures end user satisfaction.

• Undertake project cost estimating and prepares project proposal offer to the client.

• Conducts site inspection of Civil and Architectural and collaborates with his supervisor in resolving technical problems/queries during the construction phases of the projects.

• Conduct continuous research to keep abreast with the latest design technology.
