UNIHEALTH-PARAÑAQUE HOSPITAL & MEDICAL CENTER INC. is seeking a licensed Medical Technologist to join the Department of Laboratory Medicine in a supervisory role.
The successful candidate will oversee staffing, quality control, and compliance across laboratory sections, and ensure timely reporting and specimen handling. Responsibilities include coordinating with department leadership, arranging reliever duties during nights and holidays, and preparing essential documents for license renewal.
Represents the Department of Laboratory Medicine in monthly administrative staff meeting and in all other meetings, which will require representation of the department.
Serves as liason officer between the head of the laboratory, other especially during night shift, weekends and holiday duty by assigning a reliever duty when other staff members are on vacation, sick or emergency leave.
Responsible for the monthly schedule and proper staffing of the laboratory especially during the night shift, weekends and holiday duty by assigning a reliever duty when other staff member s are on vacation, sick or emergency leave.
Supervises the Laboratory Staff in preparation of the departmental monthly, semi-annual and annual reports as well as the annual budget forecast.
Assures full compliance of the hospital policies, rules and regulations by the Laboratory personnel.
Coordinates with the department head for the implementation of sanction/disciplinary action to laboratory staff for any misconduct/offense committed.
Prepares all necessary documents for the renewal of license to operate and maintain a linical Laboratory.
Responsible for trouble shooting should any emergency arises in any of the sections of the laboratory.
Coordinates with all the Section Head Medical Technologist for the ordering of reagents and supplies to ensure sufficiency of stocks for laboratory use.
Responsible for the orientation and motivation of the Laboratory staff and interns for good attendance and proper attitude.
Orientation and training of laboratory staff and interns with their specific job decriptions.
Ensures the full implementation and compliance of quality control program in all sections of the laboratory.
Close supervision of each staff and checking of accuracy and fast delivery of all issued results in the different section of the laboratory.
Supervises the care and repair of instruments and machines.
Assures the provision of proper and healthy working environment for the laboratory staff.
Receives written requisition from the physicians for routine or special laboratory tests. Sets up and adjust laboratory equipment apparatus such as chemical glassware, balance, microscope, slides and reagents.
Obtain laboratory specimens such as blood, urine, stool and sputum from Wards or directly from patient using established laboratory techniques.
Indicates amount to charge to patient’s account. Identifies and labels all specimens to retain and files them for further reference or research.
Processing of blood, urine, stool and other specimens.
Records results in the logbook and file duplicate results on a monthly basis.
Releases results to out-patient and in patients.
