The Medical Technologist will be responsible for performing complex laboratory tests, analyzing results, and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of diagnostic data. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical laboratory sciences, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
1. Perform and analyze a variety of laboratory tests, such as:
1. Drawing of blood samples from patients
Transferring collected blood into color-coded tubes. Each color has its purpose
Proper labeling of samples
Proper disposal of used syringes and cotton
Feeding of samples in the machine
Printing and recording of results
Samples for IS are placed in a centrifuge
Running of samples for HbsAg, VDRL, Anti-HAV, Anti-HCV, and other tests for IS
Recording of results
Samples for Clinical Chemistry are placed in a centrifuge
After separation of serum and red cells, the serum is transferred to another tube
Each patient has its own assigned number
The sample tubes are placed in the machine
The med tech who is a duty in clinical chemistry will input the patient's details and tests into the computer
Printing and recording of results
Matching of urine or stool sample and patient's request
Labeling the samples
For urine samples, they are transferred in a plain tube and they will be tested for their color and urine strips which include four parameters such as pH, specific gravity, glucose, and protein. Urine samples will be placed in the centrifuge for 5 minutes. Lastly, reading and recording of urine samples
For stool samples, color and consistency are recorded
Perform and analyze a variety of laboratory tests across multiple sections.
Ensure accuracy in labeling, processing, and reporting of test results.
Adhere to safety protocols and proper sample handling procedures.
1. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring all instruments are calibrated and functioning correctly.

1. Maintain accurate and detailed records of test results, quality control measures, and equipment maintenance.
2. Manage inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents.
3. Assist in the preparation of reports, documentation, and other administrative tasks related to laboratory operations.
4. Ensure all logbooks are completed daily with relevant details.
