Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Chemist in the Philippines to plan, implement, review and validate environmental analytical testing. You will work with project teams to deliver integrated environmental solutions and contribute to QA plans and reports.

The role requires a Chemistry degree (or related field) and experience with data validation, EPA methods, and ISO17025‑style environments. Hybrid work options and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent, in Chemistry (preferred) or Environmental Science or related field.
  • 2) Experience with data validation and data quality evaluation reports.
  • 3) Understand USEPA Superfund CLP National Function Guidelines (NFGs) for Data Review.
  • 4) Understand ASTM, APHA/AWWA/WEF Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater.
  • 5) Understand USEPA methods.
  • 6) Understand USEPA SW-846 methods.
  • 7) Experience tracking samples from the field through the laboratory to reporting, validation, and project closeout.
  • 8) Ability to develop QA Plans and SAPs.
  • 9) Ability to develop laboratory scopes of work and validation scopes.
  • 10) Proficiency in technical writing.
  • 11) Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and Access.
  • 12) Preferred ISO17025 accredited laboratory experience.
  • 13) Preferred roles: Laboratory QA Officer, Technical Director, or Laboratory Project Manager.
  • 14) Preferred experience with EarthSoft EQuIS and/or ESDat.
  • 15) Strong communication with laboratory personnel and Jacobs project staff.
  • 16) Preferred knowledge of multi‑media field sampling techniques and field instrumentation.
  • 17) Experience working in regionally‑diverse teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs), SAPs, work instructions, laboratory statements of work.
  • Support project teams in the coordination of laboratory services, tracking laboratory data, and reviewing final reports.
  • Perform validation of analytical data for compliance with data quality objectives.
  • Work closely with project chemists and project teams to provide integrated solutions for clients.
  • Develop internal relationships to support the overall growth and success of the Chemistry practice.

We are looking for Chemist. As a Chemist, you will have the chance to work closely with project teams to plan, implement, review, and validate environmental analytical testing. Working with other chemists, you’ll support multi-discipline teams of clients and consulting staff in developing environmental solutions.   • Preferred Experience performing laboratory analyses in an ISO17025 accredited laboratory
  • Preferred Experience as a Laboratory Quality Assurance Officer, Technical Director, or Laboratory Project Manager
  • Preferred Experience with environmental databases including EarthSoft EQuIS and/or ESDat
  • Communication skills (verbal and written) when contacting laboratory personnel as part of laboratory management. This skill set would also apply when working with Jacobs project personnel.
  • Preferred experience (or in depth knowledge) of multi-media field sampling techniques and field analytical instrumentation
  • Experience working in regionally-diverse teams
