Job summary

Meralco is seeking a Chemical Technician to coordinate chemical testing activities across offices in the franchise area. You will operate testing machines, perform analyses, and contribute to quality systems compliance.

The role requires a BS in Chemistry or Chemical Technology, a valid Chemical Technician license, and 1–2 years of lab experience. Onsite work in San Joaquin, Pasig with emphasis on accuracy and safety.

Qualifications

• Licensed Chemical Technician certification required.
• Graduated with BS in Chemistry or Chemical Technology.
• 1–2 years in lab testing, chemical analysis, or calibration.
• Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and lab quality systems.
• Proficient in technical reporting and documentation.
• Familiar with lab safety and hazardous substances handling.
• Driver's license preferred.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Will work onsite (San Joaquin, Pasig).

Responsibilities

• Receives and identifies samples; logbooks incoming specimens.
• Operates testing machines during standard mechanical tests.
• Performs physical measurements of samples.
• Assists in non-standard and structural tests.
• Maintains test equipment in good condition.
• Submits results of tested samples.
• Assists calibrating test equipment and precision instruments.
• Observes company codes, policies and safety rules.

JOB SUMMARY

The Chemical Technician coordinates activities related to chemical testing which covers operation and maintenance, acceptance and support services testing that are provided to all Meralco offices covering the franchise area.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receives and identifies samples for test; accomplished logbook for incoming specimens.
• Operates Universal Testing Machine and other precision equipment in the laboratory during performance of standard mechanical and structures tests like tension, compression, bend, shear, cantilever, impact, penetration, flammability, etc.
• Performs physical measurements of samples.
• Assists in performing special non-standard and structural tests.
• Maintains test equipment/apparatus in good operating condition at all times.
• Submits results of tested samples.
• Assists in calibrating test equipment and other precision instruments.
• Observes and complies with existing Company codes, policies, agreements, rules and regulations.
• Observes and practices safety rules and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a Licensed Chemical Technician
• Graduate of BS in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or other related technical courses
• With at least 1-2 years of experience in laboratory testing, chemical analysis, or equipment calibration
• Knowledgeable in ISO/IEC 17025 standards and laboratory quality systems
• Proficient in technical report preparation and documentation
• Familiar with laboratory safety procedures and handling of hazardous substances
• Preferably with a Driver's License
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Willing to work onsite (San Joaquin, Pasig)
