Job summary

Meralco is seeking Certified Public Accountants for the Sector Accounting Team to develop and document efficient policies, procedures and controls across sector accounting areas. The role focuses on maintaining account information and financial data for residential customers’ cash advances and contributions in aid of construction, and supporting reporting.

You will work under the Asset Monitoring and Sector Accounting Controls Lead, ensuring accurate data, KPI monitoring, and timely incident

Qualifications

• CPA certification is required.
• 1 year of relevant work experience preferred, fresh graduates may apply.
• Knowledge of taxation is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Controls oriented and customer-focused with attention to detail.
• Strong corporate communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and document efficient policies, procedures and controls for finance-related issues across sector accounting areas.
• Maintain account information and financial data for residential customers’ cash advances and contributions in aid of construction, and prepare reports for internal and external reporting.
• Monitor KPI to evaluate staff productivity and support system enhancements; assist in incident handling and data inquiries.

JOB SUMMARY

• The Sector Accountantis responsible for developing and documenting efficient policies, procedures and controls for consistent resolution of finance-related issues across all sector accounting areas.
• It is responsible in maintaining account information and financial data for residential customers’ cash advance and contribution in aid of construction, preparing reports for internal and external reporting, monitoring of completed projects and timely settlement to final assets or cost center, preparing user requirement document for system enhancements, monitoring the handling of incident reports, handling inquiries and data requirements, and assisting in the monitoring of KPI to evaluate staff productivity, and monitor system metrics to ensure that optimal effort and volume capacities are met.
• The role directly reports to the Asset Monitoring and Sector Accounting Controls Lead.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
• Preferably with at least 1 year of relevant work experience but fresh graduates may also apply
• Knowledge in Taxation is an advantage
• Proficiency in Microsoft programs particularly Excel and Powerpoint
• Controls oriented
