Job summary

The role focuses on performing physical and mechanical tests (compressive strength, fineness, setting time), calibrating equipment, ensuring data integrity, and supervising lab assistants under safety standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a BIT major in Civil Technology or related engineering/industrial technology course.
• Skills in technical mathematics, data recording, and interpretation of testing standards (ASTM, Philippine National Standards).
• Competencies include analytical thinking, precision, attention to detail, and understanding of concrete properties.

Responsibilities

• Perform specialized physical and mechanical testing on cement samples (compressive strength, fineness, setting time, soundness, and continuity).
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory testing equipment and machinery (compression machines, Blaine fineness apparatus, Vicat apparatus).
• Calculate, evaluate, and record test results accurately, ensuring data integrity for quality control reports.
• Identify and report any material deviations, unusual test results, and quality non-conformances to management.
• Supervise the preparation, molding, curing, and handling of samples performed by laboratory assistants.
• Maintain an orderly, clean, and safe laboratory environment in strict compliance with safety standards and ISO/standard operating procedures.
