Job Summary:
A CCTV Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of CCTV surveillance systems, access control systems, and related security equipment. The role ensures that all security systems are functioning efficiently and meet client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and test CCTV cameras, DVRs, NVRs, and related security equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and regular inspections of CCTV systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair faulty cameras, cabling, network connections, and recording devices.
- Install and terminate structured cabling, including UTP, fiber optic, and coaxial cables.
- Configure IP cameras, network video recorders, and remote monitoring systems.
- Monitor system performance and recommend upgrades or improvements when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and installations.
- Respond to service calls and technical issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company standards.
- Coordinate with clients and team members regarding project requirements and system functionality.
Qualifications
- Graduate of Electrical Technology, Electronics Technology, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 1–2 years of experience in CCTV installation and maintenance.
- Knowledge of CCTV systems, IP cameras, DVR/NVR configuration, and network fundamentals.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Familiarity with access control, alarm systems, and other security systems is an advantage.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Willing to work on-site and travel to different project locations as required.
