Job Description

The Senior CCTV Installer is responsible for the end‑to‑end installation, configuration, commissioning, and maintenance of CCTV and surveillance systems. This role leads on‑site implementations, ensures system reliability and security, and provides technical guidance to junior installers. The Senior CCTV Installer works independently on complex installations and ensures all systems comply with company standards, security requirements, and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead CCTV installation projects from site preparation to final commissioning
• Install and configure IP, analog, dome, bullet, and PTZ cameras
• Determine optimal camera placement based on security, coverage, and operational needs
• Supervise junior CCTV installers and assign on‑site tasks
• Ensure installation timelines and quality standards are met

Advanced Configuration & Networking

• Configure DVR/NVR systems, storage capacity, and recording retention policies
• Set up IP addressing, PoE switches, VLANs, and network connectivity for CCTV systems
• Configure remote viewing access, user permissions, and security settings
• Integrate CCTV systems with existing LAN/WAN infrastructure

Troubleshooting and Maintenance

• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, cabling, network, and software issues
• Perform preventive maintenance, system audits, and performance checks
• Recommend repairs, upgrades, and system improvements
• Respond to escalated service calls and critical system issues

Documentation & Compliance

• Prepare detailed installation reports, as‑built drawings, and configuration records
• Ensure installations comply with company policies, security standards, and local regulations
• Enforce safety procedures and best practices on‑site

Coordination & Training

• Coordinate with IT, Facilities, Operations, and Security teams during installations
• Provide technical guidance and on‑the‑job training to junior installers
• Conduct basic system orientation for authorised users when required

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Technical or vocational course, or college degree, in Electronics, IT, or a related field
• Minimum of 1‑3 years of hands‑on experience in CCTV installation and maintenance

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of CCTV systems, IP cameras, DVR/NVR platforms, and surveillance software
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, switches, PoE, basic routing)
• Ability to read and interpret layout plans, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation

• Ability to work independently and lead on‑site installations
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
