Job summary

RecruitNest Consulting in Ortigas, Pasig, is seeking an Insurance - Catastrophe Modeling Analyst to join our client's team and support catastrophe modeling, insurance risk analysis, and exposure management activities. You will analyze US non-life insurance data, prepare and validate property and exposure information for CAT modeling, assess disaster risks, and identify risk concentrations across locations.

Collaborative efforts with clients, underwriters, and internal teams will drive data

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in US Non-Life Insurance (Property, Commercial Insurance, Homeowners) or related areas.
  • Experience with CAT Modeling, Exposure Management, Insurance Risk Analysis, Underwriting, or Insurance Data Analysis.
  • Strong understanding of US geography (states, cities, ZIP codes, addresses, property locations).
  • Knowledge of natural disaster risks (hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, severe storms).
  • Strong MS Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH).
  • Experience with CAT modeling software (RMS, AIR/Touchstone, Verisk) is highly preferred.
  • Exposure to Power BI, SQL, Python, or VBA is an advantage.
  • Ability to start immediately, if possible.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze US non-life insurance data, including property, policy, coverage, and location information.
  • Clean and validate data to ensure accurate addresses, ZIP codes, property details, and geographic information.
  • Prepare insurance data for Catastrophe (CAT) Modeling.
  • Analyze property exposure to hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, and severe storms.
  • Identify risk concentrations and potential losses across different US states and locations.
  • Review CAT modeling results and prepare risk, exposure, and portfolio reports.
  • Perform data quality checks and investigate data discrepancies and issues.
  • Work with large datasets to identify trends, risks, and data errors.
  • Collaborate with clients, underwriters, and internal teams to resolve data and technical issues.
  • Support process improvement initiatives through automation, documentation, and other efficiency improvements.

About the Job:

We are looking for an Insurance - Catastrophe Modeling Analyst to join our client's team and support catastrophe modeling, insurance risk analysis, and exposure management activities.
