Job summary

RecruitNest Consulting is seeking an Insurance - Catastrophe Modeling Senior Analyst to join our team in a hybrid role based in Ortigas, Pasig. You will support catastrophe modeling, insurance risk analysis, and exposure management using US data and industry-standard tools.

The role involves data cleaning, validation, and preparing property exposure assessments across hurricanes, floods, and other perils. You will collaborate with underwriters and clients to resolve data issues and drive process

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 2+ years in US Non-Life Insurance or related areas.
  • Experience with CAT Modeling, Exposure Management, and Insurance Risk Analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze US non-life insurance data including property, policy, coverage, and location information.
  • Prepare data for CAT Modeling and validate data quality.
  • Identify risk concentrations and potential losses across US states.
  • Review modeling results and prepare risk/exposure/portfolio reports.

About the Job:

We are looking for an Insurance - Catastrophe Modeling Senior Analyst to join our client's team and support catastrophe modeling, insurance risk analysis, and exposure management activities. In this role, you will analyze US non-life insurance data, prepare and validate property and exposure information for CAT modeling, assess natural disaster risks, identify potential losses and risk concentrations, and contribute to improving data and modeling processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze US non-life insurance data, including property, policy, coverage, and location information.
  • Clean and validate data to ensure accurate addresses, ZIP codes, property details, and geographic information.
  • Prepare insurance data for Catastrophe (CAT) Modeling.
  • Analyze property exposure to hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, and severe storms.
  • Identify risk concentrations and potential losses across different US states and locations.
  • Review CAT modeling results and prepare risk, exposure, and portfolio reports.
  • Perform data quality checks and investigate data discrepancies and issues.
  • Work with large datasets to identify trends, risks, and data errors.
  • Collaborate with clients, underwriters, and internal teams to resolve data and technical issues.
  • Support process improvement initiatives through automation, documentation, and other efficiency improvements.
  • Handle complex analysis and support the review of work performed by junior team members.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in US Non-Life Insurance, such as Property, Commercial Insurance, Homeowners, or related areas.
  • Experience in CAT Modeling, Exposure Management, Insurance Risk Analysis, Underwriting, or Insurance Data Analysis.
  • Strong understanding of US geography, including states, cities, ZIP codes, addresses, and property locations.
  • Knowledge of natural disaster risks, including hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, floods, and severe storms.
  • Experience handling insurance policy, property, coverage, and location data.
  • Strong MS Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and INDEX-MATCH.
  • Experience with RMS, AIR/Touchstone, Verisk, or similar CAT modeling software is highly preferred.
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, Python, or VBA is an advantage.
  • Can start immediately, if possible.
