Job summary

MicroSourcing in the Philippines is seeking a Cash Application Analyst I for remote night shift. You will apply customer payments from multiple channels into the ERP, research discrepancies, and assist in month-end reconciliations.

The role emphasizes accuracy, speed, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate has 1+ year in cash application or AR, solid Excel skills, and familiarity with SOX controls.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of cash application, AR, or financial transaction processing experience.
• Strong AR fundamentals: invoices, debits, credits, unapplied cash, short-pays.
• Basic to intermediate Excel: sorting, filtering, basic formulas (SUM, VLOOKUP).
• Experience with SOX controls and SLA adherence.

Responsibilities

• Process and post customer payments from ACH, wire, checks, cards, and remittance files into ERP.
• Investigate unapplied, short-paid, or misapplied cash entries; coordinate with internal/external partners for missing remittance.
• Perform daily cash balancing against bank records and submit/account for adjustments.
• Ensure SOX/compliance and proper documentation for audit readiness.
• Collaborate with Billing, Collections, and Finance to resolve routine queries.
• Support month-end close and provide backup AR operations support.

Your role

As a Cash Application Analyst I, You Will

• Payment Processing & Posting: Accurately apply customer payments from ACH, wire transfers, checks, credit cards, and lockbox electronic remittance files into the ERP system.
• Discrepancy Research & Resolution: Investigate unapplied, short-paid, or misapplied cash entries by auditing invoices, payment records, and customer accounts; contact internal/external partners for missing remittance advice.
• Daily Reconciliation & Adjustments: Perform daily cash balancing activities against bank portal records and submit routine account adjustments for approval.
• SOX Compliance & Reporting: Adhere to established SOX internal controls, accounting standards, and documentation requirements to ensure audit readiness.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Respond to routine queries from Billing, Collections, and Finance teams within defined SLA expectations.
• Month-End & Team Support: Complete month-end close reconciliation deadlines and provide backup support across AR operations.

What You Need:

• Experience: 1+ years of direct experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or financial transaction processing.
• Core AR Knowledge: Strong understanding of basic accounts receivable mechanics (invoices, debits, credits, unapplied cash, and short-pays).
• Software Proficiency: Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (sorting, filtering, basic formulas like SUM, VLOOKUP).
• Research & Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to trace payment discrepancies, reconcile incomplete remittances, and resolve ledger mismatches.
• Internal Controls & SLAs: Familiarity with accounting controls, SOX compliance guidelines, and maintaining high processing speed and accuracy under strict timelines.

Preferred Skills/Experience

What follows

• Practical experience with financial systems and ERPs (e.g., Oracle Cloud Fusion, Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains, or Bill.com).
• Direct experience working in healthcare, SaaS/technology, or high-volume transaction industries.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
• Experience utilizing online banking portals and automated electronic payment processing platforms.
