Arvin International Marketing Inc. seeks a Business Development Officer to drive growth through strategic partnerships and active field sales of salt, industrial/food-grade chemicals, and rice across the Philippines.
You will manage high-volume accounts, lead end-to-end sales cycles, and coordinate with logistics to ensure timely deliveries while expanding market share and profitability.
As a Business Development Officer at Arvin International Marketing Inc., you will play a dual, high-impact role in driving our growth. You will not only develop high-level strategic partnerships but also act as our primary face in the field—actively selling and distributing our core commodities, including salt, industrial/food-grade chemicals, and rice.
This full-time role combines strategic account management with proactive, on-the-ground sales execution to secure high-volume supply contracts and expand our market footprint across the Philippines.
Active Sales Execution: Actively prospect, cold-call, and conduct field visits to secure new accounts and volume orders across Modern Trade (supermarkets), General Trade (wholesalers, wet markets, distributors), and Industrial B2B clients (food manufacturers, chemical processors).
Portfolio Management: Manage and scale an assigned portfolio of accounts, serving as their dedicated sales agent to handle routine reorders, address inquiries, and upsell products.
Relationship Engineering: Proactively build and maintain deep-rooted relationships with purchasing managers, procurement officers, and local business owners to ensure Arvin International is their preferred supplier.
Strategic Growth: Develop and execute account plans tailored to commodity market dynamics, driving volume growth and achieving monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Commercial Negotiation: Lead the entire sales lifecycle—from pitching products and presenting samples to negotiating volume-based pricing, payment terms, and long-term supply agreements.
Cross-Functional & Logistics Coordination: Partner closely with Supply Chain, Logistics, and Warehouse teams to coordinate delivery schedules, resolve shipment issues, and ensure seamless, on-time delivery of bulk goods.
Market & Competitor Intelligence: Monitor fluctuating commodity prices, competitor pricing structures, and local market trends to identify new prospects and adjust sales tactics in real time.
Reporting & Collections: Provide regular pipeline updates, volume forecasts, and field sales reports to senior management. Assist in monitoring client payment terms and ensuring timely collections.
Proven Track Record: At least 2–3 years of hands-on experience as a Sales Representative, Sales Agent, or Business Development Officer—ideally within the FMCG, bulk food commodities (rice/grains), or chemical distribution industries.
Field-Ready & Results-Driven: A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being out in the field meeting clients, negotiating deals, and hitting targets.
Commodity & Market Acumen: Strong understanding of the Philippine supply chain landscape, including local distribution channels, volume forecasting, and price volatility management.
Communication & Negotiation Excellence: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to pitch convincingly, handle objections, and close deals at both the corporate and grassroots levels.
Sales Lifecycle Mastery: Sharp prospecting, cold-calling, and closing skills, with a knack for turning leads into immediate sales and long-term institutional buyers.
Industry Knowledge (A Plus): Familiarity with local regulatory standards (e.g., FDA compliance for food-grade salt/chemicals or DA/NFA guidelines for rice) is highly advantageous.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, or a related discipline. Equivalent field sales experience will also be highly considered.
