Job description

The Branch Optometrist is responsible for delivering comprehensive eye care services by conducting eye examinations, prescribing appropriate corrective lenses, and providing professional recommendations that enhance patients' visual comfort and lifestyle needs. This role ensures accurate dispensing, high-quality patient care, and excellent after-sales support while maintaining compliance with professional, regulatory, and company standards.

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess and diagnose refractive errors and determine appropriate optical prescriptions.
• Recommend clinically appropriate lens upgrades and optical solutions based on patients' prescriptions, lifestyle requirements, and visual needs.
• Educate patients on available lens technologies, coatings, and product options to help them make informed decisions.
• Balance ethical clinical judgment with commercial awareness by recommending premium lens options to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
• Support branch objectives by consistently promoting suitable lens upgrades that enhance patient experience and visual performance.
• Ensure the accuracy of patient transactions from eye examination, prescription generation, and prescription encoding through lens ordering and dispensing.
• Perform precise eyewear fitting, adjustments, and final quality checks to ensure optimal comfort, fit, and visual clarity.
• Verify prescriptions, lens specifications, and patient information to minimize dispensing errors, remakes, and customer concerns.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date patient records and clinical documentation.
• Refer patients requiring specialized examination or medical intervention to appropriate ophthalmologists or healthcare professionals.
• Provide timely and professional after-sales support, including eyewear adjustments, troubleshooting, and patient follow-up.
• Address patient concerns regarding visual comfort, lens adaptation, eyewear functionality, and product performance with professionalism and empathy.
• Educate patients on proper eyewear use, maintenance, and care to maximize product longevity and visual outcomes.
• Take ownership of resolving post-purchase concerns and coordinate with relevant teams when further support is required.
• Foster long-term patient relationships by delivering consistent, patient-centered service that encourages satisfaction, trust, and repeat visits.

Regulatory Compliance & Professional Practice

• Ensure compliance with all applicable Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), Department of Health (DOH), and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations governing the practice of optometry.
• Maintain professional standards, patient confidentiality, and ethical clinical practice at all times.
• May be designated as the Qualified Person (QP) for FDA regulatory compliance.
• May authorize the use of a valid PRC license for FDA inspections, permit applications, or store regulatory requirements, subject to prior written consent.
• Support branch compliance by maintaining complete clinical records and adhering to company policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
