Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive eye examinations including basic screening, refraction and anterior and posterior ocular health checks.
- Prescribe medications, eyeglasses and contact lenses.
- Detect ocular conditions (e.g. myopia and dry eyes) and identify those at risk of eye diseases (e.g. macular degeneration and glaucoma).
- Know how to manage patients with such conditions and refer to specialists when necessary.
Qualifications
- Graduate of Bachelor\'s Degree in Optometry and board passer.
- Preferably from 6-year course or DPA certified Optometrist, has excellent academic achievements.
- 1-2 years of work-related experience preferably from an eye center/hospital based or a reputable optical establishment.
- Has the clinical knowledge to be able to deliver PRIMARY EYE CARE to patients.
- Has the passion for providing quality and holistic eye care.
Able to operate and interpret the results of the following instruments:
- Retinoscope
- Ophthalmoscope
- Keratometer
- Slit lamp
- Ishihara Color Vision Test
- Non-Contact Tonometer
Highly motivated and can work under pressure, mature, detail oriented, team oriented, demonstrates a positive and approachable ability to understand patients. Able to develop doctor/client relationship and can maintain long lasting business relationship.
