Qualifications

• Minimum of 2–3 years of direct experience in a branch cashier/teller/operations role in a bank.
• Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Accountancy, Business Administration, or related field.
• Proficiency in core banking software, cash-counting tools, and spreadsheet reporting.
• Fluency in English and Cebuano.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily branch cash operations and vault management with end-of-day cash counts.
• Handle high-volume teller transactions: deposits, withdrawals, loan repayments, fund transfers.
• Serve as primary contact for client queries and account servicing with prompt service.
• Ensure compliance with BSP rules, AMLA, KYC, and internal audit controls.
• Support Branch Manager and help balance transaction journals and daily reporting.

Sun Savings Bank, Inc. is a premier thrift bank dedicated to the financial growth of the Visayas community. As we expand our footprint to serve more clients, we are seeking a detailed-oriented and dependable Branch Officer / Cashier to join our brand-new branch in Dumaguete City.

In this dual-capability position, you will serve as the primary steward of daily branch cash operations while supporting overall branch leadership. You will be responsible for managing vault operations, processing teller transactions, ensuring 100% cash accuracy, and strictly maintaining the bank’s operational, risk, and compliance guardrails.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Cashiering & Vault Operations: Oversee daily branch cash management, manage vault balances, perform end-of-day cash counts, and manage cash deliveries and deposits with complete accuracy.

• Transaction Processing & Supervision: Handle high-volume teller counter transactions, including over-the-counter cash/check deposits, withdrawals, loan repayments, and fund transfers.

• Customer Service & Account Servicing: Serve as a primary point of contact for client queries, account openings, and daily balance/statement inquiries, ensuring prompt and courteous service.

• Compliance & Audit Readiness: Enforce strict adherence to Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) rules, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws, Know-Your-Customer (KYC) policies, and internal audit controls to protect bank assets.

• Branch Administration Support: Act as a supporting officer to the Branch Manager, helping oversee daily counter workflow, balancing transaction journals, and verifying daily reporting.

• Vault & Cash Management: Deep understanding of cash handling protocols, vault dual-control procedures, check clearing, and counterfeit currency detection.

• Banking Operations & Controls: Thorough knowledge of BSP regulations, AMLA compliance, counter operations, and daily balancing workflows.

• Precision & Numerical Accuracy: Exceptional eye for detail with zero tolerance for accounting or record-keeping discrepancies.

• Client Relations: Strong interpersonal skills to manage high-volume customer interactions calmly and professionally.

Experience & Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of direct experience as a Branch Cashier, Senior Teller, or Operations Officer in a commercial or thrift bank.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Accountancy, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in core banking software applications, cash-counting tools, and spreadsheet reporting.

• Language: Fluency in English and Cebuano.
