About the role
The Branch Services Officer (BSO) assists the Branch Manager in overseeing the overall branch operations, with a focus on cash management, transactions, compliance, security, and customer service. The BSO serves as the second-in-command and acts as the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) in the absence of the Branch Manager, ensuring smooth, efficient, and compliant branch operations.
Key responsibilities
Assist in managing daily branch operations, including cash handling, deposits, withdrawals, fund transfers, loan processing, and reconciliations.
Supervise cash operations and ensure proper vault opening/closing and dual-control procedures.
Monitor cash levels, cash movements, current account operations, and clearing transactions.
Review and approve transactions and documents within delegated authority.
Assist in reviewing loan applications as a member of the Branch Loan Committee.
Ensure compliance with AMLA, KYC, BSP regulations, and internal banking policies.
Monitor high-risk transactions and report suspicious activities when necessary.
Ensure the proper implementation of branch security, fraud prevention, and data protection protocols.
Address customer concerns and maintain high standards of service.
Supervise, coach, and train branch operations personnel, particularly tellers and cashiers.
About you
Bachelor's Degree in Banking & Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in branch banking operations, with 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of cash management, loan processing, and banking regulations.
Experience in customer service, risk management, and branch security.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, and familiar with core banking and transaction monitoring systems.
Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
