Job summary

Our Clients is seeking a BIM Detailer to develop accurate 3D BIM models and fabrication drawings for structural steel projects. The role collaborates with engineers, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure models and drawings meet project requirements and fabrication needs.

Responsibilities include creating detailed shop drawings, coordinating with disciplines, and maintaining BIM documentation. Candidates should have a Civil/Structural related degree and experience in BIM software.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, Drafting, or related field.
• Experience in structural steel detailing or BIM modeling is preferred.
• Proficient with Tekla Structures, Revit, AutoCAD or similar BIM platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for structural steel projects.
• Prepare shop, fabrication, and erection drawings and related docs.
• Interpret structural drawings, plans, specifications, and details.
• Ensure BIM models and drawings are accurate, complete, and coordinated.
• Incorporate design revisions and project changes into BIM models/drawings.
• Perform checks to identify discrepancies and clashes before fabrication/installation.
• Coordinate with structural engineers, PMs, fabricators, and stakeholders.
• Prepare material take-offs and BOMs for fabrication and project docs.
• Ensure drawings comply with project standards and client requirements.
• Maintain organized project files and BIM documentation.
• Support project team in resolving technical detailing issues.

The BIM Detailer is responsible for developing accurate 3D BIM models, fabrication drawings, and detailed construction documentation for structural steel projects. The role works closely with engineers, project teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that models and drawings meet project requirements, technical standards, and fabrication needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for structural steel projects based on engineering designs, specifications, and project requirements.
• Prepare detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, erection drawings, and related documentation.
• Interpret structural drawings, engineering plans, specifications, and design details.
• Ensure BIM models and drawings are accurate, complete, and coordinated with other disciplines.
• Incorporate design revisions and project changes into BIM models and drawings.
• Perform model and drawing checks to identify discrepancies, clashes, and detailing issues before fabrication or installation.
• Coordinate with structural engineers, project managers, fabricators, and other project stakeholders to resolve technical and detailing concerns.
• Prepare material take-offs, bills of materials, and other information required for fabrication and project documentation.
• Ensure drawings and models comply with applicable project standards, detailing practices, and client requirements.
• Maintain organized project files, drawing revisions, and BIM documentation.
• Support the project team in resolving technical issues related to structural steel detailing and constructability.
• Perform other related BIM and steel detailing tasks as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, Drafting, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in structural steel detailing, BIM modeling, or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of structural steel components, connections, fabrication, and erection processes.
• Proficient in BIM and structural detailing software such as Tekla Structures, Revit, AutoCAD, or similar platforms.
• Able to read and interpret structural drawings, engineering plans, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of steel fabrication and construction methods is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good problem-solving and coordination skills.
• Able to work independently while coordinating effectively with engineers and project teams.
• Willing to learn and adapt to project-specific standards, software, and workflows.
