Job summary

Stolt‑Nielsen is seeking a Billing Associate to provide financial and management accounting support within an international logistics environment. You will process billing transactions, support KPIs and SLAs, and work with internal customers to resolve queries while maintaining strong internal controls and compliance with IFRS/GAAP.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or any business‑related courses.
  • At least 1 year of Billing experience.
  • End-to-end understanding and experience on Procure‑to‑Pay and Order‑to‑Cash processes, a plus.
  • Practical knowledge in the shipping and/or logistics industry, a plus.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Good to excellent English communication skills, both written and oral.
  • High attention to detail and effective decision‑making skills.
  • Practical knowledge of ERP applications – AS400, a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

Are you as excited as we are when we talk about the storage and distribution of bulk liquids at our state-of-the-art tank containers and terminals in key markets? Join us as a Billing Associate.

In this role, you will provide financial and management accounting assistance to the division or office you support, with a strong focus on executing regular deliverables in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs). You will process billing-related transactions, ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) are met, proactively manage queries from internal counterparts and customers, and support the integrity of financial data through diligent adherence to internal controls and accounting standards. You will also contribute to process improvements, stay current on developments affecting your assigned processes, and collaborate closely with your team and supervisor to resolve issues efficiently.

Stolt Tank Containers (STC) is a leading provider of door-to-door transportation services for bulk-liquid chemicals and food-grade products. With a fleet of more than 45,000 tank containers, owns a worldwide network of 22 owned and joint venture depots.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Billing Associate, you will handle day-to-day transactional processing for your assigned area, ensuring that all billing activities are completed accurately and on time in accordance with SLAs and agreed KPIs. You will work closely with your Team Leader or Supervisor, internal customers, and counterparts in other functions to manage and resolve billing-related queries, escalating issues when immediate resolution is required. Your work will involve using ERP systems such as AS400 (where applicable) and MS Office tools like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook to prepare, verify, and track billing information, while maintaining high attention to detail and sound decision‑making. You will keep yourself up to date with all developments and changes relevant to your assigned processes, supporting continuous improvement by sharing knowledge and suggesting process enhancements during team meetings. In addition, you will ensure that all billing activities comply with Stolt‑Nielsen’s Policies & Procedures, applicable IFRS or GAAP standards, and relevant regulatory requirements, helping to maintain robust internal controls. Operating in an international organization, you will contribute to a collaborative team environment, supporting personal and collective goals, and may be involved in initiatives aimed at optimizing procure‑to‑pay and order‑to‑cash processes where your end‑to‑end understanding is a plus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform necessary transactional processing in his/her assignment.
  • Meet all the agreed KPIs and complete the tasks in accordance with the SLA.
  • Keep updated on all developments and changes relevant to the assigned process.
  • Participate in the meetings and share knowledge with the team, especially in initiating and suggesting process improvements.
  • Handle queries from counterparts and customers (internal) and escape any issues which needs immediate resolution to the Team Leader / Supervisor.
  • Ensure that the appropriate internal controls are in place and are in compliance with Stolt‑Nielsen’s Policies & Procedures, with IFRS or the applicable GAAP, and with relevant government or regulatory authorities.
