Job summary

Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) seeks a senior desk analyst to execute and co-develop portfolio strategies in the regular banking book, exercising delegated judgment on securities selection, risk positioning, and liquidity deployment to optimize residual liquidity.

You will provide analysis for investment proposals, monitor markets, and participate in reviews with Credit and ALCO committees, ensuring compliance with risk limits and internal controls while supporting revenue targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Business- related course.
• Certification requirements: Certified Treasury Professional, SEC-Certified Fixed Income Salesman

Responsibilities

• Provide data and analyses to support new investments/renewal of investment lines; independently prepare and defend investment/line proposal analyses.
• Monitor domestic and foreign financial markets daily and analyze impact on portfolio valuations and yield; interpret market signals to form tactical positioning and risk management recommendations.
• Conduct periodic reviews of portfolio quality, risk profile, diversification, and profitability of BankingBook securities; design review framework and identify risks ahead of cycles.
• Recommend entry/exit levels for portfolio investments to N3; exercise delegated authority to execute routine trades with accountability for execution quality.
• Ensure deal execution stays within pre-approved parameters and risk limits; act as primary control point for execution compliance and flag breaches.
• Coordinate with Centralized Credit to provide complete analyses for investment line proposals/renewals; manage relationships with credit stakeholders.
• Attend Sub-Credit Committee and Credit Committee meetings; assist in management of portfolio maturities and reinvestment of excess funds.
• Independently structure investment recommendations for excess funds and pre-funding ahead of maturities; coordinate with other departments for new portfolio initiatives.
• Help achieve Net Revenue from Funds and Non-Interest Income targets; prepare periodic portfolio data and inputs for ALCO/RMC meetings and provide explanations as required.
