BairesDev is seeking a Backend Engineer (Healthcare) to develop scalable, HIPAA-compliant backend services for critical healthcare applications. You will work remotely with a global team and focus on secure data handling and interoperability.

Key responsibilities include integrating with EHR systems like Epic/Cerner, building HL7/FHIR pipelines, and implementing strong audit logging. Strong English and healthcare-domain experience are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on healthcare systems.
• Proven expertise in HIPAA-compliant systems and PHI handling.
• Strong experience with EHR integrations (Epic/Cerner).
• Proficiency in HL7 and FHIR standards for interoperability.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale HIPAA-compliant backend services.
• Design and implement integrations with EHR platforms (Epic/Cerner).
• Develop data pipelines and APIs using HL7 and FHIR standards.
• Manage PHI with encryption and access controls.
• Build audit logging and monitoring to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with security teams to safeguard health data.
