Job summary

BairesDev is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to ensure the health and performance of our production database environments, safeguarding data integrity and driving architectural improvements across core storage systems.

You will work 100% remotely with a global team, handling backups, HA/DR, schema reviews, and performance tuning while collaborating with developers to optimize queries and maintain high availability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in operating and tuning production databases like SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres, or MySQL.
• Proficiency in T-SQL or PL/SQL for database development and optimization.
• Hands-on experience implementing backups, replication, and HA/DR strategies.
• Deep understanding of performance tuning and database maintenance in high-availability environments.
• Advanced proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize production database instances to ensure peak performance and stability.
• Design and execute robust backup and recovery procedures to protect critical data.
• Implement high-availability and disaster recovery solutions to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with developers to review schema designs and optimize complex queries.
• Monitor system health proactively and troubleshoot issues across various database technologies.
• Automate routine maintenance tasks and database deployments to improve operational efficiency.
