Job summary

ConnectOS in Metro Manila is seeking a seasoned backend engineer to design and operate scalable cloud-native services. You will work on microservices, REST APIs, and data integration across Lakehouse stacks using Azure, Delta, and Databricks, while ensuring strong non-functional quality.

You will collaborate in agile teams, implement CI/CD with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, and apply secure coding practices and observability tooling.

Qualifications

• Strong experience building scalable back-end services (microservices, REST APIs) in C#/.NET or Python, with clean architecture, clear separation of concerns, and maintainable code.
• Proven capability designing and operating cloud-native platforms on Azure — deploying to App Service, Azure Functions, AKS or Container Apps, with CI/CD in Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions and infrastructure-as-code in Bicep or Terraform.
• Experience integrating AI/ML into production systems by consuming Azure OpenAI / Azure AI Foundry models and calling agent services over APIs, handling streaming responses, token limits, retries, and fallback behaviour.
• Solid grounding in data integration across a lakehouse stack — working with Delta tables, Microsoft Fabric / OneLake, and Databricks, and streaming events through Kafka (or Azure Event Hubs) for reliable system-to-system exchange.
• Ability to design robust service layers that sit between the Assistant and enterprise data/back-end systems, orchestrating API calls, caching, and data shaping for agent consumption.
• Strong focus on non-functional quality — performance, scalability, and resilience — instrumented with Application Insights, Azure Monitor, and OpenTelemetry for end-to-end observability.
• Experience working in agile, product-centric teams: design discussions, pull-request reviews, and iterative delivery.
• Commitment to engineering excellence — unit/integration testing, Git-based version control, secure coding (secrets in Key Vault, managed identities, Entra ID auth), and maintainable service design.
